My Weekly Recommendations of People To Follow On Twitter – July 10, 2009

I REALLY wanted to write an accompanying article giving some more tidbits and tips and insights into Twitter that I’ve learned, but somehow my days this week only had 24 hours in them. Did anyone else have that problem? I’m drafting a petition for more hours in the day. Let me know if you would be willing to add your signature.

So instead this week I am simply going straight to a new compilation of people I follow on Twitter. If you are here wondering what #FollowFriday is all about, or why I choose to recommend people in this manner, please read these posts from the past 2 Fridays:

At the end of both of those posts are more of my recommendations of people to follow. If you’re new to Twitter, these are great people to start off with. If you’ve been on Twitter for awhile and are not following any of the people in these 3 posts, the time is now!

@KeithDriscoll – Keith Driscoll

Keith is one cool dude (I think he looks like Bono in his avatar). Helpful, friendly, funny & a provider of great content. Plus he hassles me on Facebook.

@maddisondesigns – Anthony Hortin

Anthony is a highly-skilled freelance designer in Australia. He’s a funny and friendly guy who plays well with others on Twitter. Check out his site!

@writer_sheri – Sheri Strykowski

Sheri’s a fun, friendly and engaging lady who is passionately pursuing broadening her creative skills. She tweets creative links and engages in witty banter. Check out her site too!

@syedbalkhi – Syed Balkhi

Syed is a young dude who makes me feel old and lazy. Seriously, this guy works harder and juggles more skills and responsibilities than anyone I know. Plus he’s a nice guy! Check his website!

@dotmariusz – Mariusz Ciesla

Mariusz is a designer and developer I met recently on Twitter. he’s a cool guy with skills to pay the bills, as they say. Take a look at his blog.

And now for some folks that live in the same town as me: Tallahassee, Florida. Most are cool people I’ve met through Twitter that I otherwise may have never known – living in the same town! But you don’t have to live in Tallahassee to follow them. They’re worthy of your follow wherever you live!

Michael is a digital media consultant with an unmatched passion for Social CRM and helping small businesses. He’s an amazing writer also! Read his blog.

@passionsista – Vandy Russ

Vandy is one of the first people I followed. She’s a caring, friendly and fun lady who is a bit of a gadget geek (aren’t we all these days?) You can read her blog here.

@dadofgage – Mike Bunton

Mike is a talented web developer who I met on Twitter and started doing some work with. He’s a nice guy, a family man, and is actively involved in helping local businesses. Check his site here.

@ShortyTee – Natasha Harris

Natasha is a young lady I met because her little sister plays basketball with my daughter. She’s a funny, caring person who’s always checking in and inspiring others. Tweets speed trap info too!

@TallyCast

This dude is PURE Tallahassee. If it’s going on in Tally he knows when and where. Also a beer authority. He reached out to me and we had lunch shortly after I met him on Twitter. One cool guy!

@FloridaSunSales – Debbie Kirkland

Debbie is a fun, friendly lady who is interested in working with local realtors and small businesses to assist them in learning how to use social media. Always smiling and uplifting, she’s a keeper.

@lawton_chiles – Lawton Chiles

Just met Lawton in person this week. Tweets all kinds of new media links and info. Plus he had me cracking up when we went to dinner with some others in this group.

@serenitythrueft – Pat Burns

Pat is a classy lady who is very friendly and fun to talk with. We’re always checking in on each other. You can read more about who she is and what she does here.

@RichLeighton – Rich Leighton

Rich is an AMAZING photographer (view his work) who is also a genuinely nice guy. Always to be remembered by me as the guy who sent me his mechanic’s number when I was having car trouble.

I hope you enjoy this week’s recommendations and by following them get to know them as I have.
