DESIGNERS: Submit Your Info To Be In An Upcoming Post: Designers That Have Never Been On Lists

Are you a designer who keeps hoping to see your name or your work appearing on one of the many lists that come out on design blogs each week, highlighting the “Top Designers of This” or “Ultimate Design of That”? If you’re like me, whenever you see a new list that you could have somehow been included on, you frantically scan the post for your name or your work only to be disappointed once again. It’s not a good feeling.

Over the past few months I have actually found myself included on an occasional list here and there in the design blogosphere. In each case I have been pretty amazed and flattered by the others on the list, mostly because they are usually other designers who are much more qualified or well-known than I am. Still, it is a good feeling and a bit of validation to end up on one of these lists, and I am always grateful. On the flip side, it is always disappointing to me to see that generally the same designers and designs tend to end up on the lists, whether it’s “Top Twitter Backgrounds” or “Top Designers on Twitter to Follow” or “Top Design Blogs”. It’s not really anyone’s fault. I mean, I have been discovering the amazing design community that is out there and of course there are those in the crew that stand out as the best. It stands to reason that these ‘elite’ few would tend to show up in any list that aims to feature the top of a design field. Still, it got me to thinking this week about all the rest of us who seldom or never make those lists. Shouldn’t there be a place for people to discover designers and designs that are lesser known?

So here’s what I want to do: I’m looking to create a new series on my blog here for all those designers who have never made a list. All you have to do is submit your name and link(s) to your work in the comments below and I will put them together over the next weeks into new discovery lists. So rather than the “top” designers to follow on Twitter, we will have something like “Coolest Undiscovered Designers to Follow on Twitter”. And instead of “Top Twitter Backgrounds” we will have “Coolest Twitter Backgrounds You’ve Never Seen”. And on and on. The possibilities are entirely up to you. Give me your backgrounds, wallpapers, websites, vectors – you name it!

Submit away! Here is your chance to promote yourself – I encourage you to be shameless. Give me as much info and links as you want, and I’ll put them together into hopefully a new and interesting series where new discoveries will be made.

Here’s the only catch: whatever you submit must not have ever been on one of those roundup lists before.

Got it? Go for it! Let’s put together some really cool new compilations of work and designers that have yet to be enjoyed by the public!

      Hehe…I actually thought of this right before the flu knocked me down. Been dying to get it going but couldn’t sit up long enough to type it until now. Hopefully more people will submit their info so we can have some interesting new posts!
