Wow... that's horrible. I commend you on taking the highroad after all of this.

I'm constantly on a tirade about customer service. Sadly I've found that bad customer service isn't always a result of technology. A lot of the time even person to person, face to face customer service is a horrible experience... but at least in that situation you are given the satisfaction of yelling at someone instead of at your computer screen. ;)

I feel your pain.

In the UK most of our call centres are now situated in India, meaning that almost everyone you speak to is working from a call script and will not deviate in any way.

To be brutally honest i think companies nowadays are more interested in not helping you than they are at helping.

BK,

Your experience with JustHost is no longer something we are really that shocked about. Unfortunately, this is what customer service boils right down to. No one seems to care anymore about building relationships and really getting to know what their paying customers needs and wants are. And if they show any interest it's through some spammy email asking you for something... fill out this form, call this hotline. No more "Mayberry" if you will. I haven't even had good experiences with live chat before because it seemed like everything they said was scripted and it was like talking to a computer anyway. They kept dodging my questions to up-sell their product. It was quite annoying. When will we be more interested in interacting with each other? Whether it's in person or using amazing technology to do it? There are so many tools... I wonder if companies will ever have a Skype like customer service option? Where it's like live chat only you can see them face to face and be PERSONAL. I'm sick of automated everything. Thanks for sharing your experience. I giggled often!

You are SO right, Clement. Social media is giving the "common man" a voice that was once more limited. Corporations have to learn to be more careful with how they treat people and how that treatment is prioritized. Hopefully we will see a more widespread migration to the rebirth of quality and personal customer service.

Glad I could hopefully save you some heartache by avoiding JustHost. What's crazy is just the day before I had recommended them to a client who signed up for an account! Now I can no longer justify recommending them. Too bad. Thank you for your comment!

Yeah, I figure I have little to gain by ripping them to shreds. Besides, how many people would actually listen to my complaining. I'd rather move forward better equipped and working toward improvement in customer relations in general. Hopefully this little piece will help somehow.

Yes, I considered going with VPS or some type of dedicated hosting, which is what JustHost suggested. But I've been using shared hosting for 15+ years without ever having any problems like this. Unfortunate. But I understand their "limiting" of CPU usage. Makes sense. Just disappointed with their failure to state it up front as well as their dismal customer service. Ah well...lesson learned. Thanks for taking the time to read and comment!
