- Behind The Avatar #2: Meet The Husband/Wife Team Behind AdmixWeb.com

Today I am pleased to introduce you to the bilingual husband/wife team of Teylor Feliz and Holly Lamarche, creators of one of my favorite new discoveries in the design/development blog world: AdmixWeb.com.
AdmixWeb was created in October 2008 with the purpose of providing information regarding all the latest and greatest technologies, topics, and applications available to use in web design and web development and to improve the web through blogs, postings, feedback, and comments. They feature bi-weekly original articles and tutorials on web development, design, freelance, business, and programming.
- 27 More Designers You’ve Never Seen On A List Before

Last week I introduced my readers to the first 24 designers who responded to my request. Since that post another 27 designers have submitted their info and I am pleased to share them with you below. Be sure to click on their image to view their work, and click on their Twitter username so you can follow and get to know them.
- 43 Twitter Backgrounds You’ve Never Seen On A List Before

Two days ago I asked people to submit their Twitter backgrounds that have never been included on those lists design blogs put out. It is a little pet peeve of mine that the various lists tend to feature the same 100-200 Twitter background designs and claim that they are the best out of the millions of possibilities. I find it hard to believe that those lists could be so exhaustive as to have gone through every single Twitter background to determine the best. Besides, isn’t beauty in the eye of the beholder and judgment of design subjective?
So I thought it would be a good idea to offer an opportunity for those who have designed backgrounds but are maybe less known or new to Twitter so they have not yet occupied one of those lists.
- Submit Your Twitter Backgrounds That Have Never Been On A List

Here is your chance to show off your Twitter background design. Simply leave your information in the comments below and within the next week or so I will compile them together to create a gallery of Twitter backgrounds that have never been on a list.
- 24 Designers You’ve Never Seen On A List Before

A week ago I put out a call for designers who have never been on one of those lists that design blogs so often put out. I asked for designers who, like myself, are unknown or less “popular” in the design community, to submit their info so I could compile a list of designers who have never been on lists before. I have a soft spot for those that aren’t a part of the “in” crowd amongst designers, because those lists tend to include a lot of the same people over and over again and exclude some very qualified designers, as you will see.
- DESIGNERS: Submit Your Info To Be In An Upcoming Post: Designers That Have Never Been On Lists

Are you a designer who keeps hoping to see your name or your work appearing on one of the many lists that come out on design blogs each week, highlighting the “Top Designers of This” or “Ultimate Design of That”? If you’re like me, whenever you see a new list that you could have somehow been included, you frantically scan the post for your name or your work only to be disappointed once again. It’s not a good feeling.
- What’s Your Motivation For Creation?

Over the years I have asked myself this question many times. Whether in music, art, design, writing, or any other context in which something is poured out of me into a work, I am always considering the driving force behind it.
- How To Build Your Online Presence On The Cheap – Step 3: Your Logo

In this installment we look at your logo, a touchy subject when talking about doing it as cheaply as possible. This is one of the areas that I strongly suggest you invest some real money – not just because I’m a designer, but because it is SO easy to create a do-it-yourself logo that literally looks like…well…you did it yourself.
- All The MacDaddy Links In One Place – Updated All Day Long!!!

…a few weeks ago, when @elliottcarlson started following me and immediately expressed concern about the amount of tweets I was flooding him with, he offered to write a script that could be used to dynamically store all of the links I tweet in a database and display them on my site. Within a day or so it was done and then I spent the few spare minutes I’ve had over the past weeks integrating it into a page on bkmacdaddy.com.
- Tips To Bridge The Gap Between Clients And Designers

It seems that one of the most difficult gaps to bridge is the language barrier between designers and clients. Yet I am certain that if one could build that bridge and birth a method of interpretation the two very different species could not only coexist peacefully but would unite in exuberant harmony and exultation. Designers would have a clear understanding of what their clients want, enabling them to produce spectacularly pleasing projects with efficiency and prowess. Clients would be confident that their designer caught the vision and would be ecstatic to discover that the completed design was even better than what they had dreamed.
As a freelance designer, this utopia is one I want to live in.
